Who Has a Private Jet These Days?

Private jets are ever popular among the wealthy and famous. If you’ve ever seen a private jet flying overhead, you’ve probably wondered who was inside of it.

Well, it turns out that the corporations with the most planes and flights these days are Dycom Industries, Jabil Circuit, Lincare, Outback Steakhouse, Progress Energy, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Walter Industries, and the Wilkes & McHugh law firm.

This data was recovered by researcher in the Tampa Bay, Florida area who recorded the tail numbers of the private jets going in and out of the local airports, and comparing them to an FAA list made in January 2011 of all aircraft operators.

The data shows us that the majority of private flights out there aren’t being done by one private party, but corporations and organizations that have nationwide business to attend to on a regular basis. Or do they?

From the looks of the data, many of these private flights have been to and from resort destinations where corporate executives go for vacation supposedly. It’s their money I suppose. I can’t help but wonder what good could become of their companies and organizations if the executives weren’t spending so many thousands of dollars per flight on their private jets for recreational purposes, and were investing them in their own causes?

In the end, I guess it’s good to know that the private jet industry is alive and kicking. What can we see in the future of private jets? If more and more companies and private parties are buying private jets, then maybe the industry will better take care of and maintain airports for not just commercial use, but for private use too.
