Flying through the air isn’t as much of an exciting adventure as it used to be. Rules and regulations caused by abuse of the system have not only delayed the process but made it much more frustrating for those wishing to simply enjoy what was once the thrill of a lifetime.

Fees, security measures and bland food choices make the time spent during air travel less than inviting. As such, corporate big wigs and celebrity superstars are boarding private jets for many reasons, including the greater food and relaxation options.

However, luxury is a privilege with a price. Not only do private jets often come equipped with multiple cabin areas, beds and luxury reclining seats, the meals and additional accommodations are often far above and beyond what you would be privilege to on an economy flight.

One of the best accommodations according to those who frequent the private jetting arena is the food. If you are taking a smaller private jet to a close location, you can enjoy a spread of cheese, crackers, cookies and other snacks that need little refrigeration.

However, if you are traveling out of the country or even overseas you will probably be using a larger jet, complete with full dining accommodations. You can hire a catering staff, which will satisfy your food fancy by serving up delicious, five-star meals, or keeping it on the simple side with soup and salad, its up to you.

If you don’t know where to go to find a good quality catering company you can seek the help of private jet owners, jet chartering companies or the airport itself may be able to offer suggestions.

Next time you want a luxurious vacation to remember, you may consider chartering a private jet, hiring a catering company and traveling in style and comfort.

In 2011 there were a number of private jet companies and owners that used their success and fortune to do good throughout the world. If you are lucky enough to have a private jet of your own, you may consider doing something like this in the coming year, and don’t forget, if for no other reason, you can always write it off on your tax returns.

Toys for Tots Hangar Party

In Chandler, AZ, Chandler Air service hosted the 20th annual Toys for Tots Hangar Party on December 9,2011. Over 1,500 toys were collected and given to local families in need. You can do this kind of thing locally, whether or not you actually own a private jet.

Wings of Mercy

Wings of Mercy offers pilots and private jets for those suffering from life threatening conditions. Chris Boes of Michigan is currently suffering from a life threatening brain tumor and uses Wings of Mercy to get to and from his Durham, N.C. treatments.

Wings of Hope and Aerobridge

These two corporations donate jets for relief groups to respond to medical and natural disasters such as the Haitian Tsunami of 2010. Wings of Hope has also used it’s private jets to respond to women and children in need in the remote nomad villages of Africa and additional third world countries and nations. The need for help is never done.

There are also private jet pilots such as Butch Bejna that are concerned with the dying lack of interest in flying and want to encourage children to become interested again in the world and flying. Butch himself has taken over 1,700 children for a ride in the sky to encourage an interest in flying. Of these 1,700, 10 have become pilots.

There are of course many more things you can do for good, especially if you have your own private jet. Make a Wish may offer some great opportunities to get involved as well as other non-profit organizations.

Also, if you are someone looking to be a medical volunteer during natural disasters, such as the Tsunami listed above, visit http://www.aerobridge.org/ or http://www.wings-of-hope.org/ to join in the efforts.

This Christmas season Virgin airlines is offering anyone with $60.000 to spare the chance of a lifetime. That’s right, for the “small fee” of $60,000 you can name one of the jets in their Airbus A320-family named whatever you want. Additionally, you and 145 of your friends get a flight to anywhere Virgin American Airlines flies.

Vice President of Corporate Communications for Virgin America explains the reasoning behind this extravagant idea; she says, “We did it as part of a partnership with Gilt – as a pretty unique, once-in-a-lifetime item for their holiday gift list.” If this kind of extravagant present makes the gift list, it kind of makes you wonder what else made the top ten.

Of course, restrictions will most likely apply to the name given to the plane and even though you are naming one of the aircraft, this might not be the plane you get to fly on for your chartered flight. Don’t worry though, it will be painted on the side of the plane for all of the world to see, so choose wisely.

Lucky for you and even luckier for your guests, you will be provided with additional in flight amenities. Virgin America already offers in flight Wi-Fi, meals and drinks on Red, and a seatback entertainment system brings you live TV, movies, music, games and more.

Known as one of the most comfortable American airline companies, you are sure to enjoy yourself on this non-stop flight to wherever your heart desires. You must book your flight before January 2013 and fly before May 2013.

Virgin America teamed up with Gilt just a few months ago for another promotional opportunity and offered Gilt Packs (groups of main cabin select seats). These sold out in a hurry, so, if you have $60.000 just burning a hole in your pocket, get to www.giltcity.com today to reserve your name and pick your flight today.

As part of its annual day of community service Jet Airways, started the morning off with a special ceremony in the terminal filled with dancing, music, games and fun filled activities and prizes galore. The children also got to see a video presentation of exactly how an airplane works before boarding the flight.

If this wasn’t enough, these lucky kids then got to board the plane in style, through a fun zone. Before boarding this flight of a lifetimes they were greeted with blue and yellow balloons and streamers. Media was present on the plane as well to document the day.

The flight landed after being in the air for just over an hour. CEO of Jet Airways, Mr. Nikos Kardassis, said “We are so glad to be able to continue this time-honoured tradition and provide some holiday cheer for the children, as we know how much this special event means to them…participating in today’s event is both a privilege and a humbling experience. It is most gratifying for us at Jet Airways to see smiles light up on the faces of the children as they look forward to their once-in-a-lifetime experience in the skies.”

Children were also honored with refreshments both on the ground and in the air, giving them the full in-flight experience. Each child also received a gift package providing them with trinkets in memory of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For some of these children this may be the one and only time they ever have to experience this type of thrill and Jet Airways is more than happy to be a part of their experience each year.

Did you know that private jetters used to have the option of being placed on a hidden “fly log” in which they were exempt from the government system responsible for tracking air traffic? That’s right, those enough wealthy enough to own a private jet, could simply fill out some paperwork and without background checks or testing of any kind could be added to the list of flights that the government does not track. The company who set up this association of jetters, The National Business Aviation Association, says that the system was set up with the intent to protect business deals and the security of business executives.

However, in April 2010, after a court battle, a judge ruled that these records should be kept public and a list of over 1,000 private jets and their owners was released to the public, allowing us to take a peak into the ritzy lives and sometimes secrets of these mutl-million dollar executives.

Among those on the list included evangelical Kenneth Copeland, the University of Alabama, the CEO of Hooters, Tyson Foods, and owner of the L.A. Times, among other evangelical churches, government agencies and private millionaires and real estate moguls.

The Real Reasons?

Some owners argue that they have good reasons for blocking their flights from being seen by the public, one even comments on the “screwballs in the world” after he and a female companion were stalked through the air.

Both the University of Alabama and the University of Mississippi say that they are on the list because of coaching and player recruiting and Gannett Co. the company that owns USA Today keeps their corporate jet on the blocked list as well. The latter sites reasons such as investment security and competition in a post 9/11 world and the privacy and safety of their reporters.

What do you think? Should people with high enough status be able to keep their private lives private or is that the price they pay for fame and fortune?

We’ve all heard about luxurious private jets, owned by popular celebrities and billionaires all over the world that fly well above first class. But even with of all these famous “jet-setters” the question literally hangs in the air. Who has the best jet?

Here are some of the most well-known jet owners and their planes.<img src="http://www.generationjets.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/7271-550x412-300x224.jpg" alt="Mr. Trump" title="Trump Plane" width="300" height="224" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-133"style="float:right;margin: 5px 0px 0px 10px"/>
<bull> Harrison Ford
<bull> Brad Pitt
<bull> John Travolta- Jett Clipper Ella
<bull> Donald Trump
<bull> Bill Gates
<bull> Elvis Presley – Lisa Marie
<bull> Mark Cuban
<bull> Jimmy Buffet- The Hemisphere Dancer
<bull> Mr. President- Air Force One
<bull> Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud

Even though Air Force One and the famous Lisa Marie, owned by Elvis Presley may hold a special place in the hearts of millions, the features of some of these modern flying machines are simply outrageous and unprecedented. From non-stop flights around the world to Gold Plated seat-belts these aerodynamic wonders are truly amazing.

Maybe you have your guesses. With Donald Trump’s extensive luxury seating and entertainment area, John Travolta’s collection of private jets, or even the number one choice for multi-millionaire businessmen everywhere-hosted by Bill Gates himself- there are plenty of great choices, however nothing even touches the luxury and style of the winning jet.

And the winner is…

The “flying palace” of oil billionaire Prince Alwaleed. Costing over $400 million dollars, this private jet is outfitted for over 600 passengers, has a garage, prayer room, and over 20 luxurious suites for his honored guests. If that isn’t enough you could always enjoy a concert in the ten seat concert hall with a baby grand piano or relax in the full size steam room. Meetings aren’t a drag either with a holographic projector in the board room. The amenities are endless, which is why this gold leafed masterpiece takes the prize for best jet.

<img src="http://www.generationjets.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/jet-300x200.png" alt="Get Your Own Jet" title="jet" width="280" height="190" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-123"style="float:left;margin: 5px 10px 0px 0px" />Don’t just let other people own one of the coolest toys known to man. Okay, maybe they’re not just toys, but still, it’s now possible for more economic-driven people to own a jet.

Or, at least part own a jet. Netjets has created a program called fractional ownership. Netjets has the largest network of jets, and jet ownership with the largest fleet, and the most experience.

By owning a fractional jet, you get the convenience of owning your own jet, and a much smaller price. You don’t have to worry about hiring a pilot, planning the logistics of taking a flight, and maintaining your safety.

When purchasing part of a private ownership of a jet, you’re actually getting an undivided interest in a specific plane. How big your interest is, meaning how much you plan on flying, is totally up to you. Plans generally start out at 1/16 of the jet and usually amounts to about 50 hours of flight time a year.

You don’t have to worry about rising costs, or hidden fees, because your costs and guarantees are predictable for the length of your contract. You can renew and keep your contract going on a monthly basis if you’d like.

If you decide your time with the private jet is up, Netjets offers guaranteed liquidity and will make sure you get a fair value for your price. Netjet buys very well built jets, and takes extremely good care of them, and the value, even after use, is usually very high.

When you’re ready to fly, your jet is ready for you. Netjet takes very good care of its customers, because if you’re going to buy a jet, even a fraction of one, you want to get the most out of your aircraft.

Think about it. If it sounds expensive, just remember it’s the lowest cost per hour available. Get flying today!

Republican Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, 75, was in Iowa this weekend making important campaign speeches in Iowa this weekend. After making an appearance in Ames, Iowa, Ron Paul headed towards Cedar Rapids, which is a two hour car ride away from Ames. Instead of going by car, Ron Paul took his jet.

Now, two hours isn’t that long of a time. What could possibly compel Ron Paul to take a private jet as opposed to a car to his next campaign speech?

If you are visiting this website, you are probably familiar with private air crafts, in either you own some of your own, you’re thinking about getting your own, or you know someone who has their own. Either way, you’re probably very familiar with everything it takes to fly privately. The expenses for fuel, crew, food, etc. use up a lot of resources. It’s nice to fly occasionally, but you may have come to realize that flying everywhere for every little thing might not be worth it.

Ames and Cedar Rapids are about 100 miles away from each other? Is that really that big enough of a distance that you’d really want to fly? Flying would give Ron Paul a few benefits. He would be able to arrive quicker, allowing him to start a speech sooner, or at least be able to socialize with the crowd before his speech. He’d be able to make a grand entrance so to speak, if for example his other nine competitors were also arriving, but were riding in cars.

Planes make a big statement, and whether it is a good statement or not is a good question. Ron Paul’s campaign has little to do with some of the more liberal or Democratic viewpoints of politics. Private jets use up a lot of fuel which pollutes the air dramatically. He may not care about this, and many of his followers may not care about this, but others will. If Ron Paul wants anyone to cross lines and vote for him in the event that he becomes the Republican candidate in the final election, he might want to use his jet less often.

LOM Group has just established a new private jet facillity at L.F. Wade Bermuda International Airport. The release of this new and useful port for private aircraft was announced on Tuesday July 5, 2011.

The facility will be based in a cottage-like building right across the tarmac from the commercial airliners. The building will contain a resting quarters for aircraft crew members, new flooring, new computers, and new printing capabilities. Artwork for the waiting quarters will be provided by the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art.

“We wanted to enhance the welcome and departure experience of both locals going abroad as well as leisure and business travelers that bring business to Bermuda,” Sales Manager at LOM, Michael Greaves said.

More than 2,000 private jets fly in to Bermuda every year. Bermuda wants to make flying privately as comfortable as possible to locals and visitors of Bermuda. Such facilities in Bermuda will stimulate Bermuda’s economy for sure, since Bermuda’s largest profit comes from tourists. Rich tourists. If more people are flying into Bermuda as a result of this, then they’ll most likely be seeing a turn of economic bounty. Whether or not private jet fliers are taking the bate, this is getting me to start feeling like a trip to Bermuda is in order. Anyone want to join me?
